This Privacy Policy explains how DEXUN INC ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use DexunShort: the website dexunshort.com, the DexunShort apps for iOS and Android, and DexunShort experiences inside partner platforms. Our creator tool, DexunShort Create, has its own Create Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We access your photo library only when you choose a picture to upload, and only that picture. We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or biometric information.

2. How we use information

Provide the service: sign you in, stream episodes, keep your progress in sync across devices, process unlocks and purchases.
Personalize recommendations and show content in your language.
Run invitations, promotions and rewards.
Show advertising and measure its performance (see section 3).
Provide customer support and send service messages.
Keep the service secure, prevent fraud, abuse and payment chargebacks, and enforce our Terms.
Analyze usage to fix problems and improve the service.
Comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting record-keeping.

3. Advertising and your choices

Our mobile apps may show ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to deliver, limit and measure ads, and, where you allow it, to personalize them.

iOS: we ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, your IDFA is not shared and ads are not personalized based on tracking. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads (wording varies by device).
Web: you can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as follows:

Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract: Amazon Web Services (hosting, United States), Cloudflare (content delivery, security and video storage), Alibaba Cloud (cloud storage and email delivery), and analytics and crash-reporting tools used to keep the apps working.
Sign-in providers (Google, Meta/Facebook, Apple, TikTok) to authenticate you when you choose to sign in with them.
Payment platforms (Apple, Google Play, Stripe, PayPal) to process and verify purchases.
Advertising partners (Google AdMob) as described in section 3.
Partner platforms such as TikTok, when you use a DexunShort experience inside their app; they process your use of their app under their own privacy policies.
Legal and safety: to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, DEXUN INC or others, and to investigate fraud.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. How long we keep information

Residual copies in backups are removed in the normal backup cycle. We may keep de-identified, aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably be linked to you.

6. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can:

access and update your profile in the app;
delete your account from the app or by email, as explained on our Account Deletion page;
ask for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request";
control advertising identifiers and cookies as described in section 3.

We will verify requests by confirming control of the email address or sign-in account linked to your DexunShort account, and we respond within the time required by applicable law (for California residents, within 45 days).

7. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use and disclose; delete personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (email, user ID, IP address, advertising ID); commercial information (purchase history); internet or other electronic network activity (viewing activity, interactions with ads); approximate geolocation derived from IP; audio/visual information you choose to upload (profile photo, screenshots); and inferences used for recommendations. Sources, purposes and recipients are described in sections 1, 2 and 4.
Sale and sharing: we do not sell personal information for money. Using advertising identifiers for personalized ads may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by denying tracking on iOS, opting out of ad personalization on Android, or emailing [email protected] with the subject "Do not share my personal information". We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Sensitive personal information: we do not collect or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent to submit a request; we may ask for proof of the agent's authority and verify your identity directly.

8. Users outside the United States

DexunShort is operated from the United States and your information is processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the service and purchases), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), with your consent (such as personalized advertising, which you can withdraw at any time), and to comply with legal obligations. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. Children

DexunShort is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
