AI storyboard with 3D previs and multi-camera coverage
DexunShort Create includes 3D-BOX, a virtual set in the browser. You block each shot with mannequins, plan the camera move, and the recorded previs drives the AI video generation — so camera movement, framing and positions come out as planned instead of being re-rolled from a text prompt.
What you can do in 3D-BOX
- Build the set from the shot description automatically, from a reference photo, or by hand: room, props (a library of real-scale 3D models) and animated mannequins bound to your characters.
- Plan the camera with keyframes or a drawn track, and choose the lens (field of view).
- Generate film-style coverage: 9 or 25 camera setups of the same blocking — master, two-shot, over-the-shoulder, singles, close-ups, inserts — on one side of the line of action (180° rule), framed with real focal lengths. One click makes a setup the shot's camera.
- Record a grey-box previs and attach it to the shot; when the episode is shot, the AI video model follows the previs camera move and framing, with each mannequin mapped to its character.
- Save the coverage grid to the project as a storyboard page.
Why previs instead of a storyboard grid of generated images
Generated image grids are separate images: positions, eyelines and the set change from cell to cell. In 3D-BOX every angle is a camera in the same scene, so the staging stays consistent and screen direction is preserved.
How to use it
- Write or paste a script and create a shot list (/storyboard N).
- Open 3D-BOX from the studio, pick a shot, build or adjust the set.
- Open the Coverage tab, generate 9 or 25 setups, pick one — or plan your own camera move.
- Record the previs; shoot the episode (/shoot N).
Questions
Does the AI video really follow the 3D previs?
The previs is sent to the video model as a reference video together with an instruction to reproduce its camera movement, framing and blocking, and a mapping of each mannequin color to a character. In our tests the supported video models followed the previs camera move and framing; results can still vary per shot.
What is camera coverage?
Coverage is the set of camera angles shot for one scene (master, two-shot, overs, singles, close-ups, inserts) so an editor can cut between them. Create computes a 9- or 25-setup coverage from your staged set and keeps all but one marked "reverse" setup on the same side of the line of action.
Do I need 3D skills?
No. The set can be built automatically from the shot description or a reference photo; you adjust it by dragging.
